Twenty years ago, I started my blog. Back then, it was on Livejournal, which later got moved over to Dreamwidth. And, finally, it got moved here to my own web site.
That first entry was me sitting in my apartment in Pittsburg, California, watching the protests in my home town of Portland, 700 miles away, and writing about the police brutality I was seeing there. That was to become a frequent topic of my blogs and Facebook rants over the years.
In the intervening couple of decades, Portland police have grown worse, and much more willing to jump to violence than they were back then when the bush administration had to bring in more violent police from outside to get the results they wanted.
