I wasn’t sure where to put this, but wanted to capture it in case I needed the information again. Also, to make it public for anyone else who has had problems with audio sources on Twitch.
I couldn’t find an answer anywhere else, through googling such things as “Audio source doesn’t appear in list when adding audio to Twitch” or “Why doesn’t audio from The Last of Us show up as an available app on Twitch”
After days of messing with it, I finally fixed the problem by, in the opening menu for The Last of Us, navigating to Options, then Audio, then scrolling down to Compatibility. There, I switched Output Mode from “Spatial (default)” to “Traditional” and when I went back to Twitch, clicked Add Audio, the game was now in the list.
Note that the game shows up as “tlou-i.exe” instead of its full name.
Oh, yeah, also I have a Twitch channel, which I may not have mentioned here before. I just finished playing through Dragon Age: Origins and talking about the writing therein. You can find all that on my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE3IeiQiTcP2uUdPNnqPs-g
And you can follow my Twitch channel, which is live from 6pm – 8pm every Tuesday, at https://www.twitch.tv/plutherus
